Current Pandemic has led to a shift from mainstream face to face traditional education system to e-learning system. In view of this transformation, the following challenges/opportunities can be highlighted:

  • Necessity in developing robust online platforms that attracts digital learning and offer continuity in learning
  • Good and Quality teachers who can acclimatize to the transformation and customize teaching methods
  • Refreshed curricula and effective tools to ensure students stay involved and active in the learning process

Below are some major challenges.

  • Students preparing for toughest competitive exam like IIT JEE, requiring more teacher student interaction to guide them through diverse ideas will be missing in virtual classroom program as there is no direct way to communicate with the faculty
  • Productivity in Virtual classroom teachings when compared to mainstream face to face classes
  • Skilled and Quality teachers who can adapt to the transformation and make virtual learning interesting is scarce
  • Robust online platforms for an effective online classroom programme is a challenge
    Internet connectivity or technical issues increases absenteeism and hence lead to discontinuity in learning, causing distraction and demotivation in children
  • Assessment of the students’ performance through online exams remains a concern as students find many ways to cheat the exam
  • Students monitoring during virtual class is difficult
  • Assignments sharing, submission and evaluation becomes tedious
  • Class participation and group discussions will be missing
  • Number of screen hours in front of the device with concentration is much less compared to traditional classroom sessions
